We attended our first ever event at the Escalante fair during the 24th of July celebration. We try to make it down there every year to spend time with good people, get away from the hustle, and to enjoy the amazing scenery in southern Utah. We've been going for years but this time we had a booth for Button Up For Cancer. It was fun to raise our first small pile of cash to donate to a person going through cancer treatment. It wasn't much but it's a good start and we had fun doing it. It gave us a small taste of what we can do with buttons to make a difference in the lives of those dealing with a difficult disease.
Sometimes all you need is a little pressure to make things happen. When Cassidy told me she had made arrangements to have a booth at the fair it got me excited and a little nervous because, quite frankly, I didn't think we were prepared. After having a taste of success I'm even more inspired. We now have our website set to accept multiple forms of payment and 50% of proceeds go to individuals with cancer. We are signing up for more events, and creating other great products to help support the cause. Our social media accounts are up and we have several active followers already. Thank you everyone who has joined us. We have a long way to go but we're excited for the journey.
